#1 - An Introduction

My Pillar To Post

Many moons ago, when Facebook was somewhat still in its infancy, I took my first steps into the world of social media. Seemingly, a safe place to arrange events and share happy moments with a mixture of family, colleagues and friends.

After several years in my own little, (allegedly) private slice of social network and involvement with various supporters groups of Newcastle United I found the need to join Twitter. This would enable me to interact on a more public platform and hopefully spread the word of upcoming action that was about to be taken by various support and protest groups. 

With reduced involvement in said fan groups and a season ticket now cancelled, I find myself occasionally wondering what to do with my time. Despite still going out on a match day to see the rest of the gang, I often find myself trawling through the Twitter-sphere.

Hooked up and put on the drip of Twitter, probably the main catalyst for bringing you this blog.

On a weekly basis I aim to discuss one key subject, this will be "My Pillar to Post". Opinionated, and occasionally controversial, I aim to discuss current and ongoing topics that 280 characters simply cannot paraphrase.

The intention of the blog isn't to offend, only to generate discussion based on a viewpoint that may occasionally be misguided and be hopeful of direction, or will hopefully provide direction to others. 

In my first "proper" blog I will discuss the late Caroline Flack and the increasing role of both mainstream and social media. Hopefully, this will be of interest...

Keegan's Corner

Born in 1989, I was born into his reign. The era of ambition. Football has brought me many happy moments and a rollercoaster of emotions. Named after King Kev, this will be a section that discusses football and more often than not, Newcastle United.

However, in my first edition I will be discussing the events from last nights fixture in the Portuguese Primeira Liga between Vitoria Guimaraes and FC Porto as the key issue of racism continues to infest the beautiful game.

I look forward to sharing my opinions with you (the reader) and creating a platform to further my knowledge and understanding of the world. I hope that, together with open discussion, we can create a more positive outlook from our corner of the world. With open minds and open hearts, we can all make the world a better place.
